How much notice do you need to start services?
We ideally need 3 days' notice but can usually start care with 24 hours' notice if requested.
Does any government program cover the cost? Medicaid or Medicare?
Not currently. Medicaid or Medicare does not cover any personal care services.
What happens when the caregiver needs time off?
We send in a relief person with similar experience to provide relief. The primary caregiver can take time off when they want as long as they give proper notifications to the client and office manager. Sometimes the caregiver prefers no regular time off. If the caregiver ill, we can replace them quickly. Once a caregiver is placed, the client is never left without care. (Exceptions when appropriate are short trips to the market or pharmacy)
Can you do short term care?
Yes, we do short-term care, called Respite Care, when caregiver needs a break or vacation.
What if there is a couple living together?
Our rates are priced for a single individual. There is a 30% (maybe adjusted) surcharge for an extra individual in the home regardless of the level of care, if any, the second person needs.
Can you do five days a week if the care can be managed on the weekends?
Yes, absolutely!
Can I interview the caregivers first?
Normally not, but a phone call can be arranged. Our company is responsible for screening, hiring, managing, and scheduling the caregivers. If a client wants to change caregivers for any reason, we will do so at no charge, as deemed necessary until they are perfectly satisfied.
Can you accept payments weekly?
Yes. Our system allows weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly intervals between payments.
Do you bill before or after service is rendered?
We bill after services are rendered. An agreement is entered into for services and an initial deposit is due upon signing of the agreement.
What is the initial deposit?
A required deposit to start services. It is payment to Premier Home Care for the projected level of hours in the initial service period.
What if the client must go into a facility before the service period ends?
If the client goes to a facility, Premier Home Care will suspend Services until the client returns home. If the client dies or does not return, then a refund will be made. See below for more details -
What if I want to terminate service before the end of the service period in the contract?
If the Agreement is terminated prior to the end of any Service Period (except the initial Service Period), a refund of the Initial Deposit will be made to the client, less any outstanding Service hours and/or Expenses. In the event this Agreement is terminated prior to the end of the initial Service Period, an administrative set-up fee of one hundred dollars ($100) will be deducted from any refund due CLIENT. The refund will be sent within thirty (30) days of termination to the CLIENT or Financially Responsible Party.
